IMPACT – Civil Society Research And Development

IMPACT e.V.

IMPACT – Civil Society Research and Development e.V., founded in Berlin in 2013, is a non-profit civil society organization. We aim for a globally active and well-connected civil society that is the cornerstone for social and political change. To this end IMPACT focuses on long-term and balanced support to individuals and organizations in both conflict and developed countries through its fields of work: development, social engagement and research. IMPACT’s team is based across Europe, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey and Iraq.

Our Mission

IMPACT’s mission is for a globally active and well-connected civil society that is the cornerstone for social and political change.  It achieves this through four objectives, each one connected to Sida’s strategy outlined in this opportunity.

  1. Support nascent organizations and activists to expand civil society’s role in regions with limited civic freedom.
  2. Facilitate the reintegration of returnees from areas formerly controlled by ISIS.
  3. Strengthen civil society through advocacy, coalition building, and engaging political stakeholders to improve governance and accountability.
  4. Foster connections and interactions among civil society actors, political initiatives, and experts at local and international levels.

Our Programs

IMPACT focuses extensively on networking among local, diaspora and international organizations and aims to elevate the presence and visibility of civil actors. In addition to our multiple research and evaluation projects, we work intensively in capacity building for civil society and community-based organizations through a trained team accompanied by domain experts.

Our Team

IMPACT’s main point of strength lies in its well-trained, professional and active team, with diverse backgrounds. The team is spread across Europe and Middle Eastern countries. The harmony among such a dispersed and diverse team comes from the belief in a common goal. All team members are actively participating in political and social movements at a local and national level.
